The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Across the gaming landscape, commentators persist in tolling the death bells for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering regarding Sony's platform as a new development. The past year represented complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft remains determined to engage players with strong games on its premier subscription.

The Current Inclusions

The duo of games that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.

Major Titles on the Horizon

Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of terror and combat."

Intriguing Niche Additions

But even the smaller games coming to Game Pass soon deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, drops on Jan. 7th — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, is also a game to check out. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.

A Robust Selection of Games

Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent tentpole Microsoft studios games that validate the subscription in the first place. However, this batch of games are very dependable. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they were due initially — rendering them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
